Equib was engaged by the BFK joint venture, to provide ongoing risk management services to the project including regular facilitation, identification and management of risk throughout the design and construction phases.

Project:

The project is a key element of the Crossrail programme, and involves the construction of two new railway tunnels that will run for 6.4km between the Royal Oak portal and the new Farringdon Crossrail stations, and are also constructing the station tunnel caverns at Bond Street, Tottenham Court Road and Farringdon.

When complete, it is planned that over 140 trains per hour will pass through the Farringdon interchange when it becomes a link between Thameslink, Crossrail and London Underground services, making it one of Britain’s busiest train stations.

The project is being delivered by BFK, which is a joint venture compromising three of the world’s leading tunnelling, civil engineering and construction companies: BAM, Ferrovial and Kier.
