Network Rail / Costain: London Bridge Station Redevelopment

Equib were initially brought in to review and improve the project controls function on the project; and as part of this the risk and opportunities management processes have been re-launched.

Project:

The redevelopment of London Bridge station, creating new platforms for more trains, building a new concourse, and creating a bigger and better station for passengers. The changes will allow the introduction of more Thameslink trains every day – up to 18 trains an hour through London Bridge – offering better connections than ever before.

Equib were initially brought in to review and improve the project controls function on the project; and as part of this the risk and opportunities management processes have been re-launched. With risk services including:

The linkages with the commercial disciplines (change and contingency management) have been enhanced and codified, and detailed QCRA analysis and profiling of the risk carried out.

The work has included involvement in a full baselining exercise that incorporated the assessment of estimating tolerances, provisional sum/ allowance analysis, and a full QSRA including mitigation identification and modelling.

The management of the risk has been carried out to NR standards, utilising the ARM risk database system.
