Sizewell C - Civil Works Alliance (CWA)
Project
Sizewell C is a project to construct a 3,200 MWe nuclear power station with two EPR reactors near the village of Sizewell in Suffolk. The power station is expected to meet up to 7% of the UK's electricity demand, delivering cheaper clean electricity for sixty years.
Scope
The Civil Works Alliance (CWA) is a joint venture of Balfour Beatty, Bouygues and Laing O’Rourke who are contracted to deliver the Major Civils, Marine and Tunnels, and Earthworks and Enabling on the project.
Requirements
Equib were commissioned to:
Provide Risk management and analysis support service and advice.
Provide support with developing Target Outturn Cost, mentoring and supporting other members of the risk team.
Presenting, negotiating, and justifying risk inputs & outputs produced to both senior leaders within the business and/or external customers/partners.
Facilitate in the identification, assessment, and active management of risks to the delivery of the project, including Threats and Opportunities to both Schedule and Cost.
Maintenance and updating of the projects risk portfolio.
Performing Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA) and Quantitative Cost Risk Analysis (QCRA), as required by the project, to enable robust forecasting and tracking of risk exposure.
Facilitate in the identification, assessment, and collection of the project’s assumptions, and their coordination with their corresponding risks and opportunities.
Responsibility for effective internal reporting of risk to the business or the client, to inform management decisions and fulfil cyclical reporting requirements of the project.
Production of the required submission data and documents for the governance process.
Engagement
Equib are an integral part of the CWA Risk Team, providing both the full risk management service on a day-to-day basis, but also leading on developing and rolling out the process for undertaking integrated cost and schedule risk modelling for the Alliance.
